I’ve been in love with the weather this week! it’s really starting to feel like fall again, and i’ve been dying to break into sweater mode. with that said, i desperately need to update my wardrobe! kinda really diggin madewell’s new collection. i want me some grunge boots!

September 26, 2009, Sophia & KevinThis is one of my most memorable days because this was my first solo wedding gig! Flew up to San Francisco the morning of, got dropped off in Fairfield, CA and the rest is history! Had a great day shooting and the couple was oh so fun and easy to work with! Experienced what it was like shooting a wedding on my own. There were a couple of mishaps (camera strap broke…URG!) but all was well. Hope that future gigs run more smoothly. Cheers!

there are moments in your life when things just click. (pardon the bad pun) and this photo shoot happens to one of them. this was my very first shoot, and everything else just followed. it was a blast, mostly just messing around with friends…but it all came together in the end. a girl couldn’t hope for more.

being creative can get exhausting sometimes. your mind is constantly moving at  one hundred miles an hour; continually coming up with ideas for your next project. sometimes being part of a team makes the process easier. you collaborate together and come up with something amazing. hence… the marie antoinette project.
now there is no way in hell i could have come up with this all by myself. hair, makeup, styling….there’s just too many details to account for. this was one photo shoot i really enjoyed because i was able to focus just on capturing an amazing image, and no have to worry about anything else.

this is one of my all time favorite shoots, because it was one of the most exhausting/rewarding projects to put together. at the time i had only done one photo shoot prior to this, and i had no idea how to get everything together! where does one find horses? models? hair and makeup?
all i have to say is thank god for FRIENDS! everything for this shoot was because of the people in my life! the horses were my neighbors, model desire was a friend of a friend…you get the point. lesson here is someone always knows someone… never be a jerk to anyone you meet because you never know you could be needing a favor someday. :)

being a good sport is muy important. models who are down for anything and don’t complain gets brownie points with me. elizabeth was amazing on this shoot! our original plan for the cemetery failed, but she was able to roll with the punches. which i think will make her successful in the future. from previous experience models who aren’t as flexible don’t get the best pictures. sure they get a few decent ones, but nothing AMAZING.
